Fundacja STOP Znieczulicy was founded as a grassroots response to the growing problem of social passivity in the face of violence, aggression and harm, both in public spaces and online. Our mission is to build a society in which responding to violence becomes a natural social norm rather than an act of extraordinary courage. The Foundation was established because more and more schools, institutions and communities were asking us for support and educational initiatives.

We believe that bystanders rarely fail to act because they lack empathy. Far more often, the reason is a lack of knowledge, practical skills and a paralysing fear of the consequences. That is why we bridge the gap between knowledge and action by giving people concrete, safe tools for intervention.

What makes us different?

Evidence, not assumptions

Our foundation is evidence-based knowledge. We work with leading academic institutions to explain the psychological and technological mechanisms behind social indifference.

No heroics,
with a system

We teach people how to respond wisely and safely. We show that helping does not have to mean direct confrontation. Often, it means knowing how to work effectively with the right services and institutions.

Systemic approach

We do not rely on one-off actions. We implement our original I See. I Feel. I Act. standard in schools, universities, companies and senior groups, building a culture of responsibility across society.

Partnerships for real change

Agnieszka Wolska i Mateusz Fedorowicz

At the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, we believe that changing social attitudes requires genuine synergy. Our partnerships are not a collection of logos, but real relationships and joint projects. We bring tools and expertise. You bring knowledge of your own community. Together, we can act more effectively.

More and more people and organisations are saying the same thing: we need to talk more openly about taking action.

Universities, experts and organisations are joining us because they believe that taking action can become the norm.

Agnieszka Wolska i Mateusz Fedorowicz

Meet us

We are a team united by a shared purpose. We combine experience from science, education, business, communication, sport and social initiatives, turning it into practical solutions and tools for change.

We work where knowledge meets practice. Each person on the team brings different expertise, but we all move in the same direction: reducing indifference and strengthening people’s sense of agency and civic responsibility.

The Foundation grew from the ground up, out of a need to act. That is why the people who have helped build this initiative from the very beginning are especially important to us.

We thank everyone who helped us get started and develop the project, for their time, knowledge, support and trust. Their commitment makes it possible for us to build something that can have a real impact.

Experts

Thank you to everyonewho contributed to creating this project — those who were with us from the very first conversations and those who joined at later stages.

Thank you Iwona for helping create the first structures, Joanna for the branding of the first edition, and Wojtek and Przemek for their work on the campaign website.

We would also like to thank the copywriting and graphic design teams — Dorota, Judyta, Kasia, Paulina, Ewa and Piotr — for helping give our ideas a professional form.

We also thank Patrycja, Patrycja, Tomek, Radek, Kuba, Wiktoria, Adam and Mikołaj for their contribution, time and commitment.

We believe meaningful initiatives attract people who refuse to remain indifferent. STOP Znieczulicy is an example of this: it shows that passion, knowledge and commitment can turn a vision into a new culture of taking action.

Practical guidance:
How to respond?

Responding to violence requires judgement and attention to safety. The guidance below will help you act effectively without putting yourself at risk.

Distract the aggressor

Direct confrontation can be dangerous. Instead, try to distract the aggressor — for example by loudly asking for directions, pretending to be lost or mentioning that the police are on their way.

Call for help

Call the emergency number 112 or 986. Describe the situation and location precisely. If you cannot make the call, ask someone else to do it or use an emergency app.

Offer support afterwards

Even if you were unable to intervene during the incident, approach the person afterwards. Ask whether they need help, offer support and help them contact the emergency services.

Keep yourself safe

Your safety comes first. Respond in a way that does not put you at risk. Calling for help from a safe distance may be more effective than direct intervention.

Remember the details

Try to remember what the aggressor looked like — their clothing, height and distinctive features — and which direction they went. This may help the authorities identify them more quickly.

Agnieszka Wolska

I believe that responding is a skill that can be learned. As a leader of the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, together with academic experts and frontline practitioners, I turn knowledge into practical tools for social change. As a sociologist, I make sure that our work is grounded in current research rather than intuition. This approach has allowed us to address a gap in the system and reach such a broad social audience. At the Foundation, I combine empathy with strategic management, showing that civic courage begins with simple, conscious steps rather than heroics.

Adela Grzyb

My work is grounded in the belief that effective social initiatives depend on professional organisation. As a project leader, drawing on my experience coordinating prestigious sporting events and international cooperation, I turn management expertise into practical support for the Foundation’s mission. As an organiser, I make sure our initiatives are built on strong relationships, enabling us to pursue ambitious goals.

Kamila Lochert

I believe that a healthy workplace begins with the courage to call things by their name.
My experience of workplace bullying taught me one thing: silence is never neutral. A lack of response allows toxic patterns to continue.
Today, at the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, I turn that lesson into practical tools for business. I build partnerships with organisations that want to implement safety standards and the Trusted Company – Safe Workplace certification.
I help companies bridge the gap between knowledge and action, making sure that every person on the team has more tools and support than I once had.
If your company wants to take meaningful action to build a culture of awareness, I would be glad to work with you.

Monika Górka

I have worked in public relations for more than 25 years and have run the CREDO PR agency for almost as long, delivering projects for clients across a wide range of industries.
I became involved with the Foundation primarily for personal reasons. It stems from experiences in my childhood and a deep need to build greater awareness and sensitivity towards other people.
I believe that a lack of response can hurt just as much as the event itself. That is why developing social awareness and the courage to act is so important.
At the Foundation, I support media relations and cooperation with media partners, using my experience to raise awareness of social indifference and promote attitudes rooted in empathy (www.credopr.pl).

Patrycja Nowak

Design has the power to turn passivity into awareness. I create branding and website structures that do not allow users to remain neutral. I design experiences that lead people from noticing a problem to understanding it and taking action. I make sure that knowledge about how to respond is not only accessible, but genuinely understandable and useful.
I designed the website for the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation so that the digital environment would stop reinforcing passive scrolling and start supporting conscious action. www.patie.pl

Michał Kobyliński

At the Foundation, I support visual communication by advising on and helping translate ideas into coherent graphic forms. In my day-to-day work, I design visual identities and build clear visual systems. I created the Stop Znieczulicy logo, a project that shows how a simple, well-designed symbol can genuinely engage people and carry meaning. I value precision, purpose and responsibility in communication. I believe design is not merely decoration, but a tool that organises communication and strengthens the message we want to convey. Creator of Yucky Studio. www.yucky.eu

Bernadetta Dybalska

My work is grounded in the belief that every relationship is built on attentiveness, trust and genuine human connection. For years I have worked in customer service, training and direct communication, gaining experience in both the commercial sector and social and support initiatives.

At the Foundation, I serve as Development and Relations Coordinator, responsible for first contact with volunteers and cooperation with universities and partners. I believe that well-built relationships and a culture of mutual support are the foundation of every effective social change. I use my experience to create a space in which people want to work together and engage in projects with real social impact.

Karolina Kehl

Karolina Kehl

I believe good social research does not end with a report. Its value emerges when it helps us understand people better and leads to real action.

As a sociologist, for several years I have worked with data analysis, research and questions about how society functions, both online and offline. I am interested in how people build relationships, respond to difficult situations and find their way in a changing world.

Today I use this knowledge in educational and social initiatives, combining a research perspective with practice. I believe empathy, knowledge and attentiveness are not the opposite of effectiveness. They are its foundation.

Agnieszka Maciejewska

Agnieszka Maciejewska

For 20 years, she has prepared, delivered and accounted for projects funded from national and European sources. Above all, however, she believes in people, their ideas and the conviction that even the most ambitious vision can be turned into a well-planned, effectively delivered and properly accounted-for project.

She has experience in research and development, investment, infrastructure, educational and social projects financed, among others, through FENG, FEnIKS, Horizon Europe, LIFE, FNP, NCN, NCBR and local-government funding. She supports projects from the first “what if we…” through application preparation, budgeting and scheduling, all the way to implementation, payment applications, audits and final settlement.

She especially enjoys projects that initially make everyone say, “this can’t be done”. In her vocabulary there are no failed projects, only temporarily challenging ones. She enjoys connecting people, bringing order to chaos and finding solutions where others see only obstacles. At the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, she supports project development and fundraising.

Mateusz Federowicz

My work is grounded in the belief that empathy and education are among the most effective tools for preventing violence. As Vice-President of the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, manager of Warsaw’s Otulenie centre and a consulting company supporting medical organisations across Poland, I turn my experience into systemic support for the mental health of children and adults. I believe every response to harm matters.

Małgorzata Walichiewicz

My work is grounded in the belief that real social change requires turning ideas into concrete, measurable action. As a Project Manager with extensive business experience, I make sure that the Foundation’s growth is built on a carefully developed strategy. I focus on solutions that support professional development of the Foundation and meaningful social change.

Sena Bonsignori

At the Foundation, I am responsible for developing and delivering the school project. As a judo coach, I make sure that classes are built not only on techniques but on values such as respect, discipline and empathy. This approach helps me develop balance, awareness and strong character in students. I turn my sporting experience into practical tools for building confidence and healthy competition in the school environment. At the Foundation, I combine my passion for sport with education, showing that well-led training can become a foundation for cooperation and prepare young people for everyday challenges.

Anna Radecka

My work is grounded in many years of experience in public relations and online marketing, gained in government administration, the medical sector and PR agencies. As spokesperson for Civitas University, I make sure that substantive communication and modern digital PR tools are the foundation of the university’s image and the promotion of science. This approach allows me to support experts and academic initiatives effectively. As a lecturer, I combine practical experience with current trends, turning knowledge into concrete student skills. In supporting the Foundation, I use these tools to build our reputation professionally and show that every important idea needs a clear, credible message in the media landscape.

Anna Głyżewska

I am convinced that empathy is not a weakness, but the foundation of every genuine social change. As a process coordinator in an international environment, I turn my experience of precision and clarity into strategic PR and a network of credible partnerships for the Foundation. I make sure our external relationships are built on authority and shared values, demonstrating that professional communication can turn social awareness into real strength.

Jakub Gołaski

Jakub Gołaski

I believe good social initiatives need not only courage and energy, but also safe frameworks that allow ideas to become concrete action. As a lawyer, I support the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation on legal matters, helping organise formal issues, prepare documents and find solutions that enable responsible action. I see law as a tool that can strengthen good ideas rather than hold them back.
Agata Klimentowska

Adw. Agata Klimentowska

For nearly 20 years I have practised as an advocate with the Wrocław Bar Association. I represent clients in criminal, civil and family matters. My practice also includes cases involving physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence, as well as the protection of the rights of people harmed by crime.

In my work, I combine litigation experience with an individual approach to every case. I support people facing difficult and often critical life situations, taking care not only to protect their legal interests effectively, but also to give them a sense of safety and understanding at every stage of proceedings.

At the STOP Znieczulicy Foundation, I support initiatives aimed at preventing violence, increasing legal awareness and protecting people who experience harm or violations of their rights. I believe that understanding one’s rights and available options gives people a stronger sense of agency, and that legal education is one of the most important tools for building a society in which taking action becomes the norm.

Julia Boryczka

She combines creativity with strong organisation and believes that thoughtful design effectively supports communication and the organisation’s goals.

Katarzyna Kolarz

HR Strategist | Coach | Career Mentor | Connecting business strategy with human development

For me, business strategy and human development are not two separate worlds. They are two pillars of sustainable organisational success.

For more than 15 years, I have supported organisations in building strong teams, healthy organisational cultures and responsible leadership.

I currently serve as an HR Director and co-create organisational development strategy. I also develop HumanWise Advisory, a space where, as a coach, career mentor and career adviser, I support people in discovering their potential, making conscious career decisions and building careers aligned with their values. I believe the best organisations are created where ambitious goals go hand in hand with courage and mutual respect.

In mentoring and coaching, I help leaders and teams find a balance between effectiveness and attentiveness. I combine business experience with work on self-awareness, relationships and mental resilience because lasting results are built by people who know their values and are able to act in line with them.

Privately, I am a mother of three, and sport is an inseparable part of my life. Yoga and mindfulness practice have taught me for years that effective action begins with inner balance.
